My responsibilities include the support to the faculty members of the college of marine sciences and other members of the center's staff in their projects and the development of new systems for future oceanographic research. I'm particularly interested in the design of reliable and affordable underwater vehicles and technology to conquer the challenges of the deep ocean exploration field.

Current projects include:

  • S ipper III Optimization, Manufacturing the next generation of Units.
  • Sipper Portable Multifunctional Vehicle for the deployment of the instrument in tow application, vertical cast, and ocean monitoring systems.
  • Automated Water Filtration System for vertical sediment sampling in deep water casts.
  • Ichthyo Gliders deployment hub for the monitoring and identification of fish species using AUVs loaded with acoustic sensors and video cameras.
