The 2016 field season for C-IMAGE is comprised of four efforts from our colleagues across the consortium.
- Aboard the R/V Weatherbird II, 26 researchers will circumnavigate the entire Gulf of Mexico taking fish, sediment and water samples along the way. Read a full description here.
- The Tunnell Trek will retrace the steps of Dr. Wes Tunnell observing the coastal impacts and degredation since the 1979 Ixtoc I spill.
- Natural and Artificial reef surveys along the Alabama and Florida coasts will estimate the impact of Lionfish on reefs after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill.
- Vertical long line surveys near oil rigs off the Texas coast observing fish diversity and PAH concentrations.
