(MS PHD’S) in Earth System Science Initiative

Project Oceanography

Project Oceanography was a live television program designed for middle school science students. Each week during the school year, students learned about a variety of ocean science topics right in the classroom. The program ended in 2004, however teachers can continue to obtain lesson plans and resources to teach about the ocean. Visit the Project Oceanography website


Making Waves

Making Waves teamed teachers, scientists, and students to deliver real-world ocean science research to middle school classrooms. The program has ended, however teachers can continue to obtain lesson plans and resources to teach about the ocean. Visit the Making Waves website

 

Ocean Remote Sensing Base for Internactive Teaching and Learning(ORBITAL)

The ORBITAL program provides a self-directed learning environment for students as well as teaching resources for educators. Through the use of real-world applications, interactive learning and open communication, students will learn about satellite ocean remote sensing, its application in other fields and education and career opportunities. Beach Buddies

This program was designed to get our citizens involved in cleaning up Tampa Bay's shorelines so we all can be free to live, work, and play safely in our bay area waters -- not to mention, making a safe living place for our marine animals.
