USF College of Marine Science Dean Jackie Dixon and Professor Steve Murawski discussed the College's role during and after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, as well as its other areas of research. The forum was part of Front Row Tampa Bay, an online program presented by the Tampa Bay Partnership that aired in August 2012. - USF College of Marine Science First Responders
The University of South Florida's College of Marine Science was one of the "first responders" to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010. From the first day of the blowout, the college's scientists, researchers, staff and graduate students have been involved in tracking the spill and assessing its environmental impact. The college, located in St. Petersburg, Fla., continues to be involved analyzing and assessing the spill's impact. - 2010 College of Marine Science Fall Assembly Slide Show - Oil Spill Research Faces, Nov 29
