Project Oceanography Position:  Curriculum Specialist

University of South Florida, College of Marine Science

What do you do at Project Oceanography?
My primary responsibility is to produce written materials that support the live broadcasts. I interview the host scientists, research the program topics, and write the teacher information packets. I also develop and test the activities contained in the program packets.

Education:
I have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Biology. I earned both of my degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi. I have also had a wide variety of experiences as a professional scientist and educator.

What do you find most interesting about your job?
I enjoy talking with the scientists about their "cutting edge" research and sharing what I have learned with our audience. I also enjoy working with students to test activities. I want them to have a fun learning experience.
