INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
CAMPUS VICINITY
Statistics show that St. Petersburg averages
361 days of sunshine per year and mid-70s thermometer readings (summers
are hot and humid; winters are variable). You can check on current
local temperature and climate conditions by visiting the following
Weather
Channel website. You can also get more information on the city
by visiting the official St. Petersburg website or the local newspaper, the St.
Petersburg Times.
Information on the USF St. Petersburg campus can be found at the
campus' main website. There
is one cafeteria on campus and another located immediately adjacent
to campus. In addition there are many restaurants and cafes located
in the nearby downtown area. Public shopping facilities for groceries,
pharmaceutical supplies, and other necessities are also located
nearby. There are many places to visit around St. Petersburg including
parks, museums, shopping and sporting events. Our waterfront campus
offers an ideal place to both work and relax.
Although there is currently no on campus housing, it is not difficult
to find an apartment or house to rent near campus. The following
sites can be used to get further information on nearby housing (Apartmentguide.com
and Rent.com or the above St.
Petersburg Times newspaper site).
Despite the nearby proximity between our campus and the downtown area, our current international students suggest that it is highly advisable have a car while you are here. Although it is not necessary, having a car will open up many new opportunities for you while you are at USF.
