DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

The following are the minimum requirements necessary to graduate from the University of South Florida with a degree in Marine Science.

Master of Science

1. 32 semester hours of course work which includes core courses



2. A grade of "B" or better in each of the core courses: Physical, Chemical, Biological and Geological Oceanography



3. A written thesis and successful oral defense

Doctoral (Ph. D.)

1. 90 semester hours beyond the baccalaureate degree



2. A grade of "B" or better in each of the core courses



3. Passing performance on a comprehensive qualifying written and oral examination



4. A written dissertation and successful oral defense
