The Systems Development Group at the Center for Ocean Technology (COT) is ideally located on the University of South Florida (USF) campus at the College of Marine Science (CMS). The facilities include more than 10,000 square feet of office and lab space for instrument development, construction, and testing. The COT building contains several specialized laboratories including a mechnical engineering and fabrication lab, electronic instrumentation lab, wet/dry laser darkrooms, and computer resource lab. In addition, a machine shop provides support.
Several research vessels are available on campus for chartering through the College of Marine Science and Florida Institute of Oceanography. |

| The Bio-Molecular Sensor Laboratories (BSL) are fully equipped research laboratories that allow researchers to undertake first principal molecular biological /proteomic research and sensor construction/verification.
The BSL serves as a base of operation for the AMG where both pre- and post- deployment configuration is performed. The BSL is equipped with Real Time PCR/NASBA capabilities that allow the development of new assays or the verification of data obtained from genetic sensors under construction or deployed in the field. |
|
The Bio-molecular Sensor Laboratory (BSL) serves as a base of operation for the AMG as well as an R&D research facility for development of new biological sensors and assays. |
|
| In addition to its genetic analysis, the MSL also has proteomic analysis capabilities, ranging from 2-D gel electrophoresis to Surface Enhanced Laser Desorption Ionization Time-Of-Flight (SELDI-TOF) mass spectrometry analysis. | |
