Prior to joining the systems development group, I was a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania in a lab that processed therapeutic cell products for patients enrolled in cancer and HIV clinical trials. It was there that I learned sterile cell culture, immunology and molecular biology techniques, as well as various regulatory procedures involving medical therapeutics and biohazards. While at the University of Pennsylvania, I also earned a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, with an emphasis on process development.
A graduate of Eckerd College, I returned to St. Petersburg after one too many exceptionally cold winters in Philadelphia. I worked briefly for a local biotech company as a proteomics research and development scientist, before joining the Systems Development Group. Other interests include micropatterning of biological products (proteins, antibodies, nucleic acids, etc), cell biology and immunology. |
