B.S., Biology, Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida
M.S., Biotechnology (emphasis in Process Development), University of Philadelphia

Research Interests:
Proteomics, cell/molecular biology, fluidics, systems development, marine applications, innovations

Biography:
Prior to joining the systems development group, I was a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania in a lab that processed therapeutic cell products for patients enrolled in cancer and HIV clinical trials. It was there that I learned sterile cell culture, immunology and molecular biology techniques, as well as various regulatory procedures involving medical therapeutics and biohazards. While at the University of Pennsylvania, I also earned a Master’s degree in Biotechnology, with an emphasis on process development.

A graduate of Eckerd College, I returned to St. Petersburg after one too many exceptionally cold winters in Philadelphia. I worked briefly for a local biotech company as a proteomics research and development scientist, before joining the Systems Development Group.

Other interests include micropatterning of biological products (proteins, antibodies, nucleic acids, etc), cell biology and immunology.
We are actively pursuing collaborations with other groups interested in conducting proteomics and other cell or molecular studies.
