A short paragraph or two describing what you do at the college

My main responsibility is to create transformational changes at CMS by recruiting underrepresented (URM) students, postdocs, staff, and faculty. I am part of the leadership team to the University of Exemplary Mentoring (UCEM), a program funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. I catalyze an inclusive environment within CMS by providing workshops for personal development and implementing new student and postdoc organizations. Outside of CMS, I attend scientific conferences to recruit URM students, postdoc, and faculty. In addition to recruitment, I am the instructor for the following courses: Introduction to Oceanography, The Geologic History of Florida, and Coral Biology and Reef Ecology. In my spare time, I continue my research investigating the biogeochemical cycling of carbon in both marine and fresh water environments. I am specifically interested in the processes that influence biomarkers and optical properties of colored dissolved organic matter.
