Teachers Experimental Learning in Marine Science<\/h3>\n

This C-IMAGE supported STEM course is designed to provide hands-on watershed education for Florida teachers using the Tampa Bay estuary to foster experimental learning and stewardship. This extended professional development course includes:<\/p>\n

a) \u00a0four outdoor, coastal, field-based learning experiences<\/p>\n

b) GLOBE certifications for hydrology, atmosphere and soils, and<\/p>\n

c) classroom follow-up to implement watershed field experiences and lessons, on or near school grounds.<\/p>\n

Join us aboard a research vessel, paddle down a river, and explore the geology and ecology of the Tampa Bay watershed.<\/p>\n

Course Activities<\/h3>\n

Online component – Literature review on major science concepts and Tampa Bay watershed<\/p>\n

Outdoor field components – Fresh\/salt water excursions and land based sampling<\/p>\n

Seven in-person Saturday class meetings (1\/2 day Orientation, 2 GLOBE Trainings, 4 Field Trips<\/p>\n
