Her work has involved analyzing the genomes of diverse plant pathogens and characterizing virulence factors, including pathogen effector proteins, to better understand disease development and improve pathogen detection and management strategies. She is also interested in the genetic diversity and evolution of plant viruses. Currently, her <a href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-1595-4734\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research<\/a> includes transcriptomic analyses of seagrass, particularly turtlegrass (<\/span><em data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"813\" data-ogsc=\"black\">Thalassia testudinum<\/em><span data-ogsc=\"black\">), to investigate how marine plants respond to environmental stress.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact Daniela:<\/strong> <a href=\"mailto:danielacardenas@usf.edu\">danielacardenas@usf.edu<\/a><\/p>\n[vc_media_grid css=&#8221;&#8221; grid_id=&#8221;vc_gid:1772832254021-cf28e2a5-3209-7&#8243; include=&#8221;1862,1861,1863&#8243;]<h3>Omer Nadel<\/h3>\n<p>Omer is a postdoctoral researcher in Mya Breitbart\u2019s lab at the University of South Florida, where he investigates the impact of viruses on aquatic ecosystems across scales, from the atomic level to broad ecosystem-scale processes.
