Makenzie got her master&#8217;s degree with Mya in 2019 working on DNA barcoding of fish eggs on and off the continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico, looking for novel spawning grounds. She spearheads the lab outreach efforts, creating new activities related to current research projects. As lab manager, Makenzie doesn&#8217;t have her own research projects, but can often be found ordering supplies, making web edits, and fixing equipment in the lab.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Makenzie has a dual role managing the lab and Education and Outreach (E&amp;O) programs for the college.
