ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Meet Jon Peake, Fish Ecology Lab first member to share a little about himself with everyone.
Hey guys, I’m Jon, and I am a third-year PhD student here in the Fish Ecology Lab. I was born and raised in and around Baltimore, Maryland, and I have a bit of an obsession with everything involving my home state, like crab cakes, sports, and, of course, our awesome flag, but my biggest passion outside of marine science is baseball. One of my life goals is to see a Baltimore Orioles game in every Major League stadium. I enjoy good food, good coffee, good beer, and pretty much anything outdoors, especially hiking and camping. In fact, another of my life goals is to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail.
When I’m not out in the field, in the lab, or working at my desk, you can usually catch me watching a sporting event, at the beach, fishing, or checking out a local restaurant or brewery. I’m always trying new things, new places, and new experiences.
