ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Graduate student Travis Mellett and Postdoctoral Researcher Salvatore Caprara from the Buck Lab return from a successful 33-day cruise in the North Pacific for the NASA EXPORTS project. The project aims to provide critical information for quantifying the fate of upper ocean net primary productivity (NPP) using satellite, field methods, and ocean technologies. Samples collected on this cruise will form the basis of thesis work by PhD student Shannon Burns, who will also sail on the second EXPORTS cruise in 2020.
