Marina Marrari

My dissertation research at USF focused on investigating the physical and biological controls on the zooplankton community of Marguerite Bay in the western Antarctic Peninsula region of the Southern Ocean. In particular, I used remote sensing techniques to examine chlorophyll and sea ice dynamics in the region, and related the interannual variability observed in these parameters to changes in the composition, distribution and abundance of the dominant zooplankton of Marguerite Bay. Currently, I have a Post-Doctoral Fellowship to help develop end-to-end food web models for a Southern Ocean GLOBEC Pan-Regional Synthesis and Modeling project.
